Tournaments in Vilnius that count for a rating 8

A large part of tournament chess in Vilnius is rated, so the games are sent in for players’ ratings. The city districts league plays six rounds of eight minutes plus four in each stage, FIDE-rated, with teams that stand for the city’s districts; the company league plays rated rapid among four-player teams of employers; and the rapid marathon of Vilniaus šachmatų klubas runs four stages a season at the studio on Žalgirio gatvė.

The city championship final is played at a classical pace on autumn Sundays at the same studio. The Vilnius Open moved to the Panorama hotel for 2026, where the blitz series of Lietuvos šachmatų mokykla is rated as well. The open blitz championship of Mykolo Romerio universitetas and the cup of the Seimas, in sections A, B and C, complete the rated list; each entry links to the listings that print the rating and the pace.
